Lunar New Year is a 15-day festival marking the start of a new year on traditional lunisolar calendars, beginning with a new moon and ending with a full moon. It is celebrated globally across Asia and within diaspora communities worldwide.
China: Known as the Spring Festival (Chūnjié).
Korea: Called Seollal.
Vietnam: Celebrated as Tết.
About the collection
Greeting Cards
The design of this Lunar New Year card is especially nostalgic to me because I based it on my late grandmother's mandarin orange tree. She would decorate it yearly with origami cranes and goldfish, folded from angpao (red envelopes) packets. She sometimes places a dollar in each angpao packet, placed randomly and sometimes hidden in the tree for any of her grandchildren who notice and pick them out. I hope you liked this little story behind the card's design and I wish you a Happy Lunar New Year!

The design of our 2024 Lunar New Year card features a very symbolic and nostalgic item that every household serves family and friends to welcome them during visits- the tray of togetherness or as the kids call it, the candy tray! Each compartment in the tray holds a symbolic food be it the actual item itself or its name (which is often used as idioms and homonyms) that wishes luck, happiness, or good fortune for the upcoming new year.
